Job Title: Nurse Manager RN – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
Location: Houston, Texas
Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule

  • Shift: Day Shift

  • Hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Weekends: Not Required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $41.58 – $61.87 per hour (based on experience)

  • Sign-On Bonus: Available on a case-by-case basis

  • Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis

Position Summary

A healthcare facility in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager RN – MICU to lead clinical and operational activities within the Medical Intensive Care Unit.

The Nurse Manager will oversee nursing staff, ensure the delivery of safe and high-quality patient care, and promote a collaborative environment focused on evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and supervision to MICU nursing staff and support personnel

  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care following evidence-based nursing practices

  • Oversee patient care coordination and monitor patient progress throughout shifts

  • Manage staff scheduling, staffing levels, and workflow within the MICU unit

  • Respond to patient emergencies and ensure appropriate clinical interventions

  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes

  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, care goals, and discharge instructions

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and quality improvement initiatives

  • Monitor clinical documentation, patient safety practices, and care outcomes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License – Texas

  • Minimum 5 years of recent nursing experience

  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience (Charge Nurse or Assistant Nurse Manager)

Required Certifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) through the American Heart Association

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field

  • National specialty certification or leadership/administration certification (preferred within 6 months of hire)
