Job DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join a small construction company in Shoreview, Minnesota. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the company’s financial transactions and records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities:
• Process invoices and manage accounts payable and receivable with precision, handling a moderate volume of transactions.
• Conduct weekly check runs and oversee a small number of credit card accounts.
• Organize and maintain receipts, insurance documentation, and other financial records.
• Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliation tasks.
• Generate financial reports and analyze data at the beginning of each month using QuickBooks and Adaptive Build.
• Input payroll data accurately while collaborating with an external payroll provider to ensure timely processing.
• Monitor budgets for multiple construction projects ranging from $500,000 to $3 million.
• Maintain compliance with construction accounting practices and provide support during audits or financial reviews.
• Collaborate with the team to improve workflows and adapt to financial automation tools.• Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with Adaptive Build or similar financial automation software.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Ability to perform journal entries and manage month-end close processes.
• Experience handling payroll data and working with external payroll providers.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work fully in-office initially, with potential for hybrid flexibility in the future.
• Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
