In this role, you will be essential in managing patient appointments, facilitating communication between patients and audiology professionals, and ensuring a smooth and supportive patient experience throughout the hearing care process. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping patients with hearing health needs and possess excellent organizational and communication skills. Responsibilities include scheduling audiology evaluations and follow-ups, maintaining accurate patient records, assisting with insurance and billing inquiries specific to audiology services, and supporting the audiology team in delivering high-quality care. Responsibilities
- Manage scheduling of audiology appointments, hearing evaluations, and follow-up visits efficiently.
- Serve as a liaison between patients and audiologists, ensuring clear communication and timely responses to patient needs.
- Maintain and update accurate patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and audiology department standards.
- Assist patients with insurance verification, billing questions, and authorizations related to audiology services.
- Coordinate patient flow within the audiology department to enhance the patient experience and reduce wait times.
- Educate patients about audiology services, procedures, and available hearing care options when needed.
- Stay informed about latest audiology equipment, services, and hospital policies relevant to patient care coordination.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- Experience in patient care coordination, preferably within audiology or similar healthcare settings.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage schedules effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and clinical staff.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and audiology-specific software is a plus.
- Understanding of insurance processes and billing within audiology services.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
