Dental Front Desk Receptionist

Pay Range: $20.00 to $25.00 Hourly

Location: Burke, VA

Job Summary

Pridestaff is seeking an organized, friendly, and detail-oriented Dental Front Desk Receptionist to be the welcoming face and administrative backbone of our busy dental practice. The ideal candidate must have proven, hands-on experience using the OpenDental software system for scheduling, billing, and patient management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Welcome & Check-In/Out: Greet patients warmly, ensure all necessary forms are completed, and manage the check-out process, including scheduling follow-up appointments and collecting payments.
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Manage the provider's schedule efficiently, minimizing gaps and maximizing productivity using OpenDental's scheduling features. Handle appointment confirmations, cancellations, and rescheduling with professionalism.
  • OpenDental Expertise: Accurately enter and manage patient data, treatment plans, and clinical notes within the OpenDental software system.
  • Billing & Financial Management: Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits. Process patient payments, co-pays, and manage daily reconciliation. Submit and track dental insurance claims using OpenDental's billing modules.
  • Communication & Customer Service: Answer multi-line phones, respond to emails, and address patient inquiries regarding appointments, treatment, and billing in a courteous manner.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain a tidy and organized reception area, manage incoming and outgoing mail, and order office supplies as needed.
  • HIPAA Compliance: Ensure all patient information and records are handled in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Dental Receptionist or similar administrative role in a dental office.
  • MANDATORY: Proficient, working knowledge of the OpenDental software system (experience must include scheduling, billing/insurance, and patient chart management).
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures (e.g., restorative, endo, perio), and CDT codes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a busy environment and multitask effectively.
  • A positive, professional, and compassionate demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with PPO, HMO, and Medicaid insurance plans.

· Basic bookkeeping and financial reconciliation skills.
