- Lead high-impact carrier negotiations across Jones Act and NVOCC markets.
- Build strategic relationships with ocean carriers and drayage providers.
- Influence pricing strategies and RFQ success through real-time market insights.
- Align operations and commercial goals with data-driven decisions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth execution and carrier compliance.
- Own performance metrics and drive improvements with measurable KPIs.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Manage full-cycle carrier and contract negotiations, including FAK and named account rates.
- Develop and maintain key partnerships with domestic Jones Act water carriers and international ocean carriers.
- Vet, procure, and manage drayage capacity aligned with ocean schedules and port needs.
- Guide operational planning around routing, equipment availability, and carrier SLAs.
- Support commercial teams with market intelligence, pricing input, and routing strategies.
- Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to assess KPIs, resolve disputes, and identify growth opportunities.
- Ensure carrier compliance with regulatory requirements including chassis use, port access, and TWIC credentials.

- You bring 7+ years of experience in ocean freight, Jones Act markets, and carrier management.
- You've negotiated complex carrier contracts and managed long-term strategic relationships.
- You understand the commercial and operational nuances of trade lanes, INCOTERMS, and compliance requirements.
- You're adept at leveraging TMS tools, freight rate systems, and analytics to optimize performance.
- You communicate effectively across departments from frontline operations to executive stakeholders.
- You thrive in environments where strategic thinking meets hands-on execution.
