This travel RN position supports a small, rural orthopedic outpatient clinic within a hospital setting. The role emphasizes independent practice, strong phone triage, and patient education across the perioperative continuum.

Responsibilities
- Deliver perioperative and post-operative nursing care in an outpatient orthopedic clinic
- Perform phone triage, assess patient needs by phone, and route to appropriate clinical care or scheduling
- Administer injections and draw blood as part of routine clinic procedures
- Monitor vitals, wound care, and post-surgical instructions; educate patients on recovery goals
- Assist with orthopedic procedures and coordinate with rehabilitation services to support functional return
- Document patient encounters in the electronic medical record (Athena EMR) and maintain accurate charting
- Work independently, manage a high-volume triage workflow, and support the care team as needed
Requirements
- Active New Hampshire RN license or Compact license (Must be uploaded to profile)
- New Hampshire Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate required and uploaded upfront
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (REQUIRED)
- Minimum 3 years current ORTHO clinic/primary care experience (required)
- Minimum 2 years current triage experience (required); strong phone triage skills essential
- Comfortable with injections and blood draws (required)
- Athena EMR experience highly preferred
- Orthopedics clinic experience and rural/small facility experience highly preferred
- Travel requirement: traveler must have their own vehicle; local travelers within 50 miles will not be considered
- Perm address must be included in profile; All RTO requests must be included in profile; No more than 5 days of RTO accepted
- This assignment requires independent, efficient practice in a small, rural unit
