POSITION SUMMARY:
Works under close supervision training to operate inserter mailing machine and other departmental machines and performing other related duties.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Training under close supervision to operate all of the machines in Mail Center, especially the inserters, folders, strappers, cutter and stamper.
- Maintains a level of speed and quality that meets department standards.
- Training to do minor maintenance on all machines in Mail Center.
- Training to perform trouble-shooting, remedial adjusting and minor repair on machines.
- Must be available to work any of the flexible shifts when scheduled
- Training on all USPS procedures used by Mail Center, especially Non-Profit Marketing mail, and First Class Mail.
- Helps in other areas of the Mail Center and D/C as needed.
- Knowledgeable on all departmental and company policies.
- Training with: Basic Bowe Bicos operations, Postal PQR read sheets, Partner letter and Friend letter mailing zones, Blackware software files & conversions, EPOS operations and trouble shooting, Stamper operations and trouble shooting.
- Training with: Bowe ANV redo file transfers, Bowe supplies Inventory, Bowe barcode information, Basic mechanical trouble shooting.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High School education or equivalent.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience:
Entry level position
1 year experience as a Mail Center Area Assistant or equivalent preferred.
- Must be comfortable with utilizing computerized mail equipment.
- Needs to be flexible with working different shifts.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:
Inserter mailing machine, pallet jack, dolly, stamper, folder, strapper, and cutter.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Physical ability to be able to stand for up to nine and one half hours.
- Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, telephones and other office equipment.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
- Must be able to pull, push, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, move or carry equipment.
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Must be task and goal oriented
- Must adapt well to changing work situations.
- Must be able to grasp and apply new ideas.
- Must relate and interact with people at all levels.
- Must have good command of the English language.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Works in a general mail shop environment which has a moderately high level of machinery noise.
- Job may require working evenings or weekends.

- Must work well with others, as a team and according to Romans 16:17, must not cause dissension, difficulties and divisions
- Must maintain a good attendance record
- Membership and attendance at EMIC are preferred
- Because of the wide range of personal contact with ministry leaders within and outside the organization, this position requires considerable diplomacy, maturity, and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work with people of all cultures
