Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

As a dedicated Special Education professional, you’ll benefit from collaborating alongside passionate colleagues in inclusive, co-taught elementary and middle school classrooms, working hands-on with groups of fewer than 10 students in each setting.

What We’re Looking For:

Current, valid Special Education teaching certification
Experience or strong interest in co-teaching models in primary or middle grades
Enthusiasm for differentiated instruction and creating accessible, engaging lessons
Familiarity with IEP development and implementation, plus effective progress monitoring procedures
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to foster supportive working relationships

Key Responsibilities:

Partner closely with general education teachers for instruction in grades 3–4 at Blackstone Primary and grades 7–8 at Nottoway Middle
Adapt curriculum, materials, and strategies to meet a wide range of individual learning needs
Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success
Ensure all IEP requirements are met, including accommodations and modifications
Maintain thorough records and participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences
Participate in professional development and contribute to a collaborative, positive school culture

This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week) onsite position, running from August 19, 2026, through June 4, 2027. You’ll find fulfillment in truly seeing your impact on a small caseload and having the support of a skilled team as you help students build confidence and reach their goals.
