CDL-A Truck Driver
Shift: 6am to 4pm, M-F (50 hour weeks)
Pay: $24/hr or more based on experience level
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a CDL truck driver.
- Excellent vehicle operation skills for heavy commercial vehicles.
- Knowledge of and adherence to all federal and state transportation regulations.
- Must possess a valid CDL license, clean MVR and pass a DOT physical
- The ability to perform basic maintenance and identify mechanical issues.
- Proficiency in using GPS and reading maps to plan efficient routes.
- A thorough understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
- The ability to manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing paperwork and logs.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules as business conditions require.
- Commitment to safety, both for oneself and others on the road.
Responsibilities:
- Driving - Safely operates commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, box trucks, or other specified vehicles, in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Ability to safely drive in all types of weather conditions
- Vehicle Inspection - Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck and its equipment is safe, working order, checking tires, fluids, and other components.
- Cargo Management - Supervise or assist with loading and unloading goods, ensuring cargo is accurately verified and properly secured to prevent damage or shifting during transport.
- Route Planning - Plan routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel efficiency and minimizing downtime.
- Safety & Regulations - Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations, including those for transporting hazardous materials if applicable.
- Log keeping & Paperwork - Maintain accurate logs of working hours, mileage, fuel expenses, and cargo details, as well as complete all necessary delivery documentation as well as Vehicle inspections reports
- Communication - Effectively communicate with customers to report delivery status, delays, or any road incidents.
- Travel – Available to work out of town requiring overnight stay as business conditions require.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, including driver logs, mileage, and delivery receipts.
- When not driving or back from a run, assist the TEAM as needed in the shop.
