Job Description
The Controller is a key leader in the finance department, overseeing all accounting operations and ensuring compliance and financial accuracy across the organization. This role provides guidance to senior leadership, drives process improvements, and supports strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong healthcare finance expertise and proven leadership in managing accounting functions within a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
• Lead and manage accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accuracy and timeliness
• Direct and control budget preparation, forecasting, treasury, and financial projects
• Coordinate and manage external audits and regulatory compliance
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to senior leadership and the Board of Directors
• Enhance reporting systems, streamline processes, and support organizational goals
Qualifications and Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s preferred
• Minimum of eight years progressive accounting experience, with at least five in healthcare required
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
• Strong background in healthcare finance, including financial reporting, reimbursement, budgeting, and payroll
• Experience with nonprofit healthcare organizations preferred
• Knowledge of 340B program accounting and grant funding compliance preferred

The base pay for this position is $175,000 annually, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
