  • Regular interactions with unit leaders, including charge nurses, to ensure your suggestions for patient care and surgical workflow enhancements are considered.
  • On-call duties required during specific non-business hours.

Your Responsibilities in This Role:

  • Conduct evaluations of patients prior to surgical procedures.
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding the procedure and the peri-operative process.
  • Take charge of patient preparation, which includes intravenous therapy, administering preoperative medications, and verifying surgical sites.
  • Engage in surgical site verification processes, including briefings, time-outs, debriefings, and adherence to universal protocols as per hospital policy.
  • Identify and respond to patient emergencies effectively.
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while implementing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Be an essential part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, collaborating with providers, surgeons, surgical technologists, and others.
  • Utilize the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to provide safe nursing care independently.
  • Assess patient conditions, monitor them throughout your shift, and meticulously document any changes along with the care provided.
  • Educate patients and their families/caregivers about medical conditions, treatment options, and follow-up care.

Qualifications Required:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within six months of starting employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification must be obtained within six months of starting employment.
  • Must hold a Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Possess an Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or a Registered Nurse Diploma.
  • No travel is required.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience is required.
