POSITION SUMMARY: The Architectural Intern supports the Architecture team with design, documentation, and project-related tasks while gaining hands-on experience in a professional design environment. This role provides exposure to real projects across multiple phases, working alongside architects, engineers, and designers under the guidance of licensed professionals.
REPORTS TO: Architect
SUPERVISES: No supervisory duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with architectural design and documentation using Revit and other design tools
- Support the development of drawings, plans, details, and construction documents
- Assist with producing and maintaining BIM models in accordance with office standards
- Support project teams with specifications, research, and basic cost information
- Participate in design charrettes, coordination meetings, and internal project discussions
- Assist with submittals, RFIs, and other construction administration tasks as appropriate
- Participate in site visits to observe construction progress and design implementation
- Prepare presentation materials, renderings, and graphics for internal and client use
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
- Junior- or Senior-level student preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of Revit and basic familiarity with architectural drafting and modeling preferred
- Understanding of fundamental architectural design principles and construction concepts
- Ability to follow direction, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate in a team-based environment
- Interest in learning about the architectural profession, project workflows, and firm operations
