Job Description

The Onsite Medical Representative supports a Workplace Health & Safety team dedicated to protecting the health, safety, and well-being of employees. In this role, you independently assess and administer first aid, guide employees on occupational and non-occupational injuries or illnesses, and support safety operations across the site. You collaborate closely with the WHS site manager, WHS specialist, and injury prevention professionals, participate in safety and case management meetings, and promote health and wellness principles to the workforce on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Independently assess and administer first aid to employees for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Provide first aid support and make timely referrals to outside medical providers when needed.
  • Advise and coach employees on health, wellness, and injury prevention principles to support their daily well-being.
  • Minimize the risk of employee injury through proactive engagement, safety awareness, and educational outreach.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all care provided to employees.
  • Coordinate and maintain workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs for employees with work-related injuries.
  • Prepare and submit daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Engage regularly with employees and leadership on the operations floor to observe work habits and provide coaching on at-risk behaviors.
  • Maintain a clean, organized medical workspace and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is monitored and replenished.
  • Participate in training and certification activities to facilitate first aid, CPR, and AED certification classes.
  • Maintain current first aid, CPR, and AED credentials in accordance with certifying body requirements.
  • Assist with random saliva drug testing protocols in alignment with site procedures.
  • Provide effective care delivery during emergencies and support the site’s emergency response efforts.
  • Attend weekly associate safety committee meetings and contribute to discussions on workplace safety and health initiatives.
  • Greet and engage new hires at the site, introducing them to health, safety, and wellness resources.
  • Participate in weekly case management review meetings as needed to discuss ongoing cases and care plans.
  • Support the broader onsite Workplace Health & Safety team with first aid needs and safety operations as required.
  • Work flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends, based on operational needs.
  • Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach while performing job duties.
  • Stand and walk for up to 12 hours during shifts, often in active operational areas.
  • Work in environments with variable noise levels, including busy industrial and logistics settings.
  • Work in environments subject to variable temperatures and weather conditions, including areas with outdoor loading operations.
  • Continuously climb and descend stairs in facilities where stair access is required.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved emergency cardiac care provider.
  • Current valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification from a Department of Health or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
  • Ability to obtain adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within three weeks of starting if not already held.
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per shift.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Capability to work safely in environments with variable noise levels, temperatures, and weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail for accurate medical documentation and record keeping.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with employees, leadership, and medical providers.
  • Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in emergency situations.
  • Commitment to maintaining current first aid, CPR, and AED credentials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Certification to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting.
  • Experience working in an industrial wellness program or similar environment.
  • Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders and ergonomics, including coaching on proper body mechanics.
  • Demonstrated work experience with OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation processes.
  • Proficiency in digital record management and electronic documentation systems.
  • Recent experience (within the last year or six months) in the military as a Combat Medic, Field Medic, Healthcare Specialist, Hospital Corpsman, or Aerospace Medical Service Technician.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach employees on safe work habits and health practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional safety and operations teams.

Work Environment

This role is based onsite in an industrial and logistics environment in Appling, GA. The Onsite Medical Representative works closely with the Workplace Health & Safety team and operational leadership, spending significant time on the operations floor engaging with employees. The schedule for both training and regular shifts is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 13:30 to 00:00, with flexibility required to support days, nights, holidays, and weekends as business needs evolve. The position involves standing and walking for up to 12 hours per shift, lifting up to 49 pounds, and frequently pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching. The work environment includes variable noise levels and exposure to changing temperatures and weather conditions, particularly in areas with outdoor loading operations. Some sites require frequent stair climbing and descending. The medical area is maintained as a clean, organized space equipped with first aid, CPR, AED, and related medical supplies, and the role relies on digital tools and Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.
