General Summary: A non-exempt position involved with both administrative and clinical areas responsible for supervising the daily operations of the clinical staff in line with the clinical practice standards of ID Care, OSHA and HIPAA; collaborates with the Nurse Manager, physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff; provides support for patients and staff.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Supervision

· Supervise, mentor, and coordinate daily tasks for the clinical staff.

· Schedule assignments for clinical staff, including time off requests and variations in schedules such as late arrival or early departure ensuring adequate coverage.

· Monitor and evaluate performance; conduct regular check-ins, provide feedback for employee performance evaluations, and participate in disciplinary conversations.

· Recognize any concerns, conflicts, or unexpected circumstances or events that arise in the clinical department and work with the Nurse Manager to resolve issues.

· Foster a positive, patient-focused culture aligned with organizational values.

Operations Management

· Accomplishes ID Care clinical objectives by directing the activities of the clinical staff members through orientation, training, and scheduling assignments.

· Troubleshoot and resolve escalated patient concerns or operational issues.

· Monitor and optimize workflows for efficiency and accuracy.

· Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying emergency equipment availability; assisting with the completion of preventive maintenance requirements; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

· Ensure compliance by obtaining weekly and quarterly logs for cleaning and emergency equipment checks.

· Provide oversight about clinical supplies and vaccines, maintain inventory management and ordering.

· Provide patient care as needed.

· Fulfills clinical responsibilities which may include physical examination preparations; drug administration through various routes including injections; prescription verifications with physician’s orders, applying dressings, biohazard waste disposal and monitoring; laboratory procedures including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines; quality control methods; CLIA-waived testing; venipunctures; specimen handling such as urine, throat, vaginal, stool, and sputum; emergency triage, and first aid.

· Maintains a current knowledge of documentation requirements; provides education to clinical staff and monitor adherence of documentation.

· Oversee clinical staff workflow.

· Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing

· Provides information to patients and health care teams utilizing multidisciplinary and team building strategies.

Training and Development

· Maintains current knowledge of documentation requirements; provides education to clinical staff and monitors adherence of documentation.

· Help to implement and enforce clinical policies and procedures.

· Orient new clinical staff following along the clinical orientation checklist.

· Provide ongoing training on clinical workflow, clinical education, EMR/software upgrades.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

· Assures quality of care by enforcing ID Care policies, HIPAA, and OSHA adherence, as well as state nurse practice act requirements

· Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies.

· Provide updates when new products, lab tests, medications or any related to clinical matters develop.

· Maintains a safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations.

Collaboration and Communication

· Collaborate with PSR staff and leadership to coordinate patient care and administrative functions.

· Collaborate with external facilities, providers, and healthcare workers to ensure comprehensive patient care.

· Participate in department meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

· Other duties as assigned.

Education: High school diploma. Graduate of an approved practical nursing program.

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of LPN experience, with 1 year of supervisory experience.

Other Requirements: State-licensed practical nurse. Must possess a current BLS certification and current health records with the appropriate immunizations to work in the health care field (refer to ID Care Employee Health Policy).

2. Knowledge of principles of employee development to ensure appropriate training and mentoring of staff.

Abilities:

1. Ability to manage the overall provision of clinical services.

2. Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals at all levels of the medical practice.

3. Ability to handle many tasks simultaneously and deal effectively with changing priorities.

4. Ability to demonstrate full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye–hand coordination.

Equipment Operated: Standard nursing equipment and office equipment including computer hardware and software.

Work Environment: Combination of office, exam, and other clinical settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic setting.

Mental/Physical Requirements: Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasional stress caused by multitasking and level of responsibility.

ID Care Vaccination Policy:

  • Influenza: All employees of ID Care shall be provided the influence vaccine. Employees will be required to obtain the influenza vaccine by December 1 of each calendar year.
