SUMMARY: The Quality inspectors are responsible for closely adhering to work instructions and related industry standards to carry out measurements and inspections in order to ensure both customer and internal requirements for product have been met. Inspectors must also ensure that product determined to be non-conforming to requirements is effectively prevented from unintended use. Promotes teamwork through their behavior, acting in accordance with Altek's Policies and adhering to the goals and expectations as defined by management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In Process and Final Inspections:
  • Review and understand applicable product standard work instructions and report concerns or inaccuracies between the SWIs and customer requirements.
  • Perform in process and final inspections to check dimensions, cosmetic criteria counts and packaging of parts to ensure quality.
  • Ensure all job operations as well as certificates of compliance and material certificates are complete.
  • Communicate between mold shop, tool room, customer service, paint and machine shop to ensure product meets all quality standards.
  • Answer quality questions from employees and train others on quality criteria as noted on SWIs and the quality policy.
  • File production & measurement documents.
  • Instruct others in dimensional inspection, cosmetic inspection and general blueprint reading.
  • Attend and participate in MRB meetings as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to work effectively with others
  • Computer literate; able to use MS suite (specifically Word and Excel)
  • Ability to accurately read and use basic measuring tools
  • Ability to follow standard work instructions, where applicable
  • Must be able to interpret customer requirements, where applicable
  • General understand of manufacturing processes, such as molding and machining
  • Some experience in manufacturing required
  • High School Diploma or GED
