Job Summary
Our manufacturing client is seeking a detail-oriented and deeply experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a solid understanding of financial concepts, including GAAP and double-entry bookkeeping. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and providing valuable insights through financial report writing. A main function to this role will be the implementation of ERP software.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare and process journal entries, ensuring proper documentation for all entries
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation on a regular basis
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy in financial reporting
- Manage payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees
- Assist with budgeting processes and provide insights into financial performance
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP standards
- Utilize accounting software other relevant platforms for efficient bookkeeping
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax preparation as needed
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances
- Collaborate with management to support corporate accounting needs or non-profit accounting requirements as applicable
- Lead implementation of ERP software
Requirements
- Proven experience (8+ years experience) as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role ideally within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double-entry bookkeeping and general ledger accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial software applications
- Familiarity with governmental accounting practices is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for account reconciliation and account analysis
- Ability to write clear and concise financial reports for stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Proficient in 10 key typing for data entry accuracy
- Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial concepts is preferred
