Job Description

Candidates will be responsible for coordinating parts, assembly, testing, painting, packaging, and shipping of company products. This role involves performing a variety of manufacturing tasks that include assembling, operating manual and automatic equipment, setting up machines, testing, and dismantling unit assemblies and complex subassembly workstations according to appropriate work process instructions. Employees are expected to rotate among all stations within each assembly cell, performing repetitive work at a consistent pace to meet customer demands. A working knowledge and ability to repair final unit assemblies and complex subassemblies is required. Tasks are largely completed using power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, drills, and torque guns.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate parts, assembly, testing, painting, packaging, and shipping of products.
  • Perform a variety of manufacturing tasks including assembling and operating equipment.
  • Set up machines and test unit assemblies and complex subassemblies.
  • Dismantle unit assemblies and complex subassembly workstations.
  • Rotate among stations within each assembly cell, performing repetitive work consistently.
  • Repair final unit assemblies and complex subassemblies using power tools.

Essential Skills

  • Production experience for at least 6 months.
  • 6 months of experience in an assembly-based position.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand instructions.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools.

Work Environment

This is a large manufacturing facility with approximately 270-290 production-based employees across 13-14 different assembly lines. Available shifts are 1st Shift: 6-2, 2nd Shift: 2-10, and 3rd Shift: 10-6. The dress code requires steel-toed boots, jeans, t-shirts, and gloves, as many products have oil on them due to the focus on hydraulic components, which require oil for lubrication.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of AMES, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.70/hr.
