Summary

The primary responsibility of the Fabrication Manager is to oversee overseeing all daily operations of the countertop manufacturing site, including production, quality control, safety, maintenance, and workforce management. This role ensures efficient production flow, on-time delivery, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives in a custom and semi-custom manufacturing environment. Position is to ensure all equipment is maintained and serviced according to established protocols.

Essential Functions

  • Lead and manage all plant operations to ensure timely and high-quality production of countertops (quartz, granite, solid surface, laminate, etc.)
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and serviced according to established protocols
  • Manage staffing levels, schedules, performance reviews, and employee development
  • Ensure all employees are properly trained and operate in compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Develop employee schedules to utilize time wisely and ensure orders are completed timely
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer delivery dates and optimize labor and equipment use
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and cost control
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports for senior management
  • Track and maintain inventory and submit required monthly inventory reports
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure that materials and equipment are accounted for to avoid loss, theft, waste or damage
  • Responsible for the preparation, organization and maintenance of job files, records, OSHA records
  • Ensure jobs stay within projected bids to avoid overages in cost to the company
  • Coordinate with the Measure Techs, CAD, Programming, and Production Manager to ensure quality and on time delivery all of jobs
  • Ensure all incoming materials are off loaded properly according to Company safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure subordinates perform ongoing quality control inspections to detect fabrication errors/problems
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

Required

  • High School or equivalent

· 2-4 years applicable job experience

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Operations Management, or a related field

Skills & Competencies

Required

  • Basic technology skills, including MS Office Suite

· Strong communication skills, including written communication

· Knowledge of principles, procedures and best practices in the industry

  • Working knowledge of fabrication techniques, internet, inventory, project management, spreadsheet and word process software
  • CAD/CAM experience
  • Bilingual experience preferred, but not required (English/Spanish)
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of all available products used by the Company as it relates to product manufacturing and installation
  • Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain professional working relationships with builders, vendors, subordinates and co-workers
  • Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and supervisors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Proactively identify, analyze, address, and resolve problem areas, conflicts, and issues
  • Displays willingness to make decisions
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment, supports and explains reasoning for decisions, includes appropriate people in the decision-making process, and makes timely decisions
  • Strong organizational skills to ensure adequate tracking systems are utilized to maintain and track all required information associated with the ordering and production process
  • Working knowledge of internet, inventory, project management, spreadsheet and word process software and order processing systems.
