General Laborer (Concrete Service Company)

The General Laborer is responsible for supporting daily operations by cleaning and maintaining company trucks, equipment, and the yard. This includes pressure washing vehicles, chiseling concrete buildup, and keeping the work area organized and safe. The role requires working in all weather conditions, following safety guidelines, and contributing to overall efficiency, safety, and housekeeping standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain safety awareness at all times by wearing required PPE and following all safety procedures.
- Pressure wash and clean trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment to ensure proper upkeep.
- Remove hardened concrete and debris from equipment and tools using chisels or other appropriate methods.
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment to support reliable operation.
- Keep the yard and work areas organized, clean, and free of safety hazards.
- Report maintenance needs, safety concerns, or potential issues to supervision promptly.
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently and on schedule.
- Support overall goals in Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Housekeeping.
Requirements:
- Valid NC Driver License, clean driving record, and/or reliable transportation to work.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to use hand tools and pressure washing equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to follow directions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and teamwork mindset.
Physical Requirements: Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of this role safely and successfully in compliance with federal, state, and local standards (ADA, FMLA, etc.). This includes regular lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, and extended periods of outdoor work. Employees must maintain regular and punctual attendance and possess the visual acuity necessary to maintain safety awareness.
Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time.
