ERP DOCUMENTATION & TRAINING SPECIALIST
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically minded ERP Documentation & Training Specialist to join our Technical Team. In this role, you will create, update, and maintain process documentation, training materials, and test scripts to support our ERP system. You’ll collaborate closely with IT and business users to ensure that complex technical processes are translated into clear, user-friendly resources that enable efficiency and knowledge sharing across the organization.
This position requires up to 20% travel to support training sessions, implementation projects, and collaboration with team members at different locations.
The ERP Documentation & Training Specialist will report directly to the System Program Manager. This is a new, individual contributor position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, update, and maintain process documentation for ERP workflows and procedures.
- Create user-friendly training materials, guides, and reference documentation to support ERP end users.
- Document testing scripts, scenarios, and results for ERP enhancements, upgrades, or new functionality.
- Partner with technical and functional teams to translate complex concepts into practical, easy-to-understand documentation.
- Lead and support ERP training sessions for employees, both onsite and remote.
- Identify gaps in documentation and proactively improve structure, clarity, and accessibility.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with compliance, audit, and best practices.
- Provide knowledge transfer and onboarding support for new team members or departments adopting ERP processes.
- Assist in training staff on Microsoft products (e.g., Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Planner, Power Automate, Power BI), as well as other manufacturing software used within the organization.
- Maintain awareness of new Microsoft Business Central releases; analyze, test, and document how updates and new features may impact our environment. Work closely with IT and business users to support smooth transitions and minimize disruptions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated experience in IT, integrations, development, ERP systems, or business process documentation.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to create structured training content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central experience strongly preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat/Adobe tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Planner, SharePoint, Power Automate, and Power BI is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of reporting tools or AI technologies is a plus.
- Reporting:
- Monthly/Quarterly Reports: Summarize documentation delivered, training conducted, user feedback, support queries handled, and upcoming priorities.
- Metrics Dashboard: Maintain an up-to-date dashboard of key KPIs (if using Power BI or a similar tool).
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- ERP testing or UAT coordination experience.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience delivering training in both small and large group settings.
- Proficiency with collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, or similar platforms).
- Prior experience supporting users in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
