AutoCAD Drafter IV

Summary
Works in support of the Chief, Training Division who enforces applicable regulatory and command-directed range and training area safety guidance. Independently plans and carries out work in accordance with applicable guidelines. Uses judgment and initiative to make on-site decisions to prevent dangerous situations
from occurring which could lead to serious injuries and loss of life. Makes recommendations on unusual problems or situations that deviate from the norm. Work is periodically reviewed for compliance with oral and regulatory guidance, Standard Operating Procedures and special instructions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works closely with government staff, preparing drawings or computer models of unusual, complex, or original designs that require a high degree of precision, performs unusually difficult assignments requiring considerable initiative, resourcefulness, and drafting expertise.
- Assures that anticipated problems in design, installation, and operation are resolved by the drawing produced, exercises independent judgment in selecting and interpreting data based on knowledge of the design intent.
- Interprets general designs prepared by others to complete minor details, may provide advice to decision-makers or serve as coordinator and planner for large and complex drafting projects.
- Utilizes RFMSS, ArcGIS and Range Manager’s Toolkit (RMTK) to plan, coordinate, schedule and develop standard and non-standard range requirements.
- Drafts, calculates, and submits SDZs and WDZs for approval by the appropriate authority for current and future weapons systems, training events, and munitions based upon unit requirements and emerging fielding of new equipment.
- Manages the Command Tracker program and the AVOID database in support of aviation operations and location tracking for garrison activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associates Degree in AutoCad Drafting Technology preferred.
- Three (3) years experience in AutoCad drafting
- US Citizen
- Ability to pass background investigation
- Ability to obtain security clearance
- Familiarity with AutoCad software, MS Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Possess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality, and accuracy; exhibit a professional, business-like appearance and demeanor
