Imagine your week
On Monday, you dial in a 3‑axis VMC for a new job. Midweek, you swap to a 2‑4 axis lathe to run a repeat with tighter tolerances. By Friday, you’re assisting with a complex setup on a 5‑axis and suggesting a tweak that saves cycle time. Throughout, you’re collaborating with shop leads, keeping your area sharp, and shipping quality parts.
Your Impact
- Operate CNC mills, lathes, routers, lasers, waterjet, and plasma systems
- Own setups appropriate to your level—from first‑piece to complex multi‑axis
- Translate work orders, blueprints, and specs into reliable machining plans
- Monitor performance, adjust offsets, and maintain stable processes
- Inspect components to meet dimensional and finish requirements
- Maintain 5S standards and communicate equipment/tooling needs
- Work safely with PPE and follow all shop procedures
- Champion continuous improvement and smooth material flow
Who You Are
- Novice, intermediate, advanced, or master machinist—everyone’s welcome
- Coachability and curiosity—quick to learn new methods
- Comfortable in an industrial environment around heavy machinery
- Meticulous about quality and documentation
- Physically able to stand and lift for extended periods
- Plus: blueprint reading capability
- Plus: G‑code familiarity (optional)
- Entry applicants: show mechanical aptitude or related machine experience
