1.0INTRODUCTION


1.1The purpose of this standard procedure is to outline the duties, responsibilities, authority, reporting relationships, and measures of performance for the position of Manager of Maintenance and Transportation.


2.0BASIC FUNCTION


2.1 The basic function of the Manager of Maintenance and Transportation is to maximize the profits of the company by marketing, organizing, and implementing basic maintenance and transportation functions for the organization's building, grounds and vans, and Transportation program.


3.0REQUIREMENTS:


3.1Education:

Required: High School Graduate

Preferred: Four-year college degree.


3.2Experience:

At least 5 year's experience in a production setting and 2 years of management experience.


3.3Skill, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Ability to identify and prioritize financial, operational, and personnel areas concerning production and the ability to solve problems and execute policies and procedures. Ability to analyze and resolve mechanical situations.


3.4Physical:

Ability to drive to locations, physically observe and perform operations, listen, and actively participate in communicating effectively with employees, customers, and the public.


3.5Mental:

Basic statistical and analytical business math skills, as well as good reading, writing, and spelling ability to communicate clearly and effectively in the English language on all technical and business levels and basic computer knowledge.


3.6Working Conditions:

Office and job sites, in all weather conditions. Approximately 20% sitting and 80% standing. Also, some travel is involved.



4.0REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS


4.1The Manager of Maintenance will report directly to the Vice President of Adult Services.


4.2The following positions report directly to the Manager of Maintenance:

4.2.3Custodians/Maintenance Workers



5.0AUTHORITY


5.1To develop, implement, and maintain production and maintenance controls.


5.2To coordinate all maintenance and transportation functions in the organization.


5.3To schedule personnel reporting to this position.


5.4To purchase equipment, materials, operating supplies, and services within the guidelines established by the approved budget.


5.5Upon consultation with the Vice President to counsel, recommend termination, suggest for hire, transfer, and evaluate employees reporting directly to this position.


5.6 Commit company resources as directed by the Vice President.


6.0RESPONSIBILITIES


6.1Direct and maintain an effective and efficient operation in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.


6.2Supervise and evaluate operating personnel. Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all personnel are defined and understood.


6.3 To assist other managers and employees with scheduling transportation for individuals the organization serves and to help resolve conflicts between the Medicaid Transportation Broker and our individuals.


6.4Ensure a safe work environment, including the use of proper PPE to perform various tasks. Provide all direct reports with proper safety training.


6.5To meet the maintenance and transportation demands of the Organization in both quality and delivery.


6.6Establish quality control standards and ensure that those standards are adhered to.


6.7Support and enforce all company policies and procedures.


6.8Maintain open communication with the Vice President and all other employees.


6.9Ensure that personnel reporting to this position are capable of performing tasks assigned to them.


6.10Ensure that all employees and sub-contractors are sufficiently trained for their assigned tasks.


6.11Recommend purchase of required capital equipment.


6.12Ensure that employees and sub-contractors are evaluated according to company policy.


6.13Control operational costs and expenses.


6.14Provide accurate and adequate reports to the Vice President of Adult Services.


6.15 Preserve and maintain the physical assets of the company by providing adequate security and ensuring that controls are established and enforced.


6.16 Maintain all operations


7.0PRINCIPAL DUTIES


7.1Develop, implement, and maintain the controls necessary to meet Corporate and production goals.


7.2Schedule projects and ensure timely and quality completion and delivery.


7.3Analyze and forecast the effectiveness of maintenance and transportation operations in the company and take steps as necessary for improvement.


7.4 Work with management to ensure company policy is followed.


7.5Develop and review all estimates and proposals to ensure accuracy of detail.


7.6Analyze and control expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.


7.7Evaluate conditions of the overall facility regularly and systematically, reporting the results to the Vice President.


7.8Complete any other duties assigned by the Vice President satisfactorily.
