Job Summary

Qualification Targets Inc. is a leading national manufacturer of official training and qualification targets for the U.S. Military, Federal Agencies, and Law Enforcement. We are seeking a Lead Sheetfed Press Operator to spearhead our large-format printing department. You will be responsible for the high-volume production of paper targets, ensuring precise registration and ink density for official scoring standards. As a Lead, you will oversee a press assistant and manage the workflow of our print production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Specialized Production: Lead the setup and operation of large-format sheetfed offset presses to produce official silhouette, photo-realistic, and scoring targets.
Crew Management: Supervise and train press assistant/feeder to ensure maximum uptime and safety compliance.
Precision Quality Control: Ensure all targets meet strict dimensional and color specifications required for official federal and state qualification standards.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform advanced troubleshooting and routine preventive maintenance on large-format offset equipment.
Inventory & Logistics: Coordinate with the warehouse and office to manage paper/ink inventory.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years of experience as an Offset Press Operator, with a focus on large-format sheetfed equipment.
Leadership: Experience leading a team or acting as a "First Operator" in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of ink/water balance, plate mounting, and color consistency (specifically for high-contrast silhouettes and photo-realistic targets).
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for the duration of the shift and lift heavy paper loads (up to 50 lbs) consistently.
Reliability: Strong track record of attendance and a commitment to meeting production quotas for government and law enforcement contracts.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Miller & Harris large-format presses (our machinery is manual not automated).
Familiarity with printing for the sporting goods or defense industries.
Knowledge of ISO quality standards or similar manufacturing excellence frameworks.
