Job Description

This role involves priming, painting, and touch-up of vehicles using power spray equipment and brushes. You will be responsible for masking, washing, and conditioning parts to meet specifications. Light bodywork may be required. The role includes disassembling, cleaning, repairing, adjusting, and reassembling painting equipment for proper operation, as well as flushing tanks, hoses, and guns prior to color changeovers. You will mix various types of paints to ensure the correct color, formula, conditions, viscosity, and consistency. Perform titrations and adjust chemicals as necessary in paint, zinc, or other processes. Apply decals, stencils, and rust-proofing as required. Maintain the work area and equipment, including performing preventative maintenance tasks. Inspect products before, during, and after the paint process to ensure specifications are met. Transport, move, or guide parts, subassemblies, or assemblies before, during, or after the paint process and to the next operation. This may include moving racks or carts by hand and using material handling equipment such as forklifts or overhead cranes.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, clean, repair, adjust and reassemble painting equipment for proper operation.
  • Flush tanks, hoses, and guns prior to color changeovers.
  • Mix all types of paints to achieve proper color, formula, conditions, viscosity, and consistency.
  • Perform titrations and adjust chemicals in paint, zinc, or other processes as necessary.
  • Apply decals, stencils, and rust-proofing as required.

Essential Skills

  • 6+ months of painting experience in automotive or heavy vehicle/equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, or automotive body shop.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1+ year of painting experience in automotive or heavy vehicle/equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, or automotive body shop.

Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package and a shift differential of $1.75 for 2nd or 3rd shifts. Eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $1,500 for full-time employees, distributed over a year. Weekend shift workers receive double time pay for weekday work.

Work Environment

Join a team-oriented culture where independence and collaboration are valued. Work in inside paint booths with a strong paint odor in a hot environment, requiring the use of full paint suits and respirators. Dress code includes jeans, steel-toed boots, and a clean work shirt. Shifts are Mon-Thurs 4pm-2am, with overtime scheduled Mon-Fri 8pm-6am and Saturday 8pm-4am. Painters should not have facial hair to ensure proper respirator fit.

This is a Permanent position based out of Mc Connellsburg, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47320.00 - $54912.00/yr.
