Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide skilled nursing care in a dynamic Stepdown unit located in Wood River, NE, supporting patients with complex medical conditions across a broad spectrum of acuity. This travel opportunity guarantees 36 hours per week in a 33-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios typically ranging from 1:4 to 1:5. Ideal candidates will bring strong clinical skills and a positive, team-oriented mindset to a fast-paced environment that requires multitasking during high patient turnover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and provide care for patients including young adults to geriatrics with diagnoses such as sepsis, STEMI, CHF, stroke, COVID, COPD, DKA, and multisystem failure.
  • Titrate drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, and Insulin.
  • Interpret telemetry monitors and perform bedside assessments confidently.
  • Collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, and other team members to ensure efficient patient flow, including admissions and discharges.
  • Participate in unit-specific orientation and pass a competency exam with a score of 90% or above.
  • Float to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care units as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse licensure with at least 1 year of Stepdown or PCU experience.
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
  • Ability to adhere to facility policy including fingernail guidelines.
  • Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility and not currently employed by any associated health systems.
  • Drivers license required at submission.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts: 0630-1900 and 1830-0700.
  • Weekend rotation every other weekend.
  • Holidays as needed.
