Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician 3 will assist pharmacists in the formulation, preparation, dispensing, delivery and storage of medications and pharmaceutical supplies, including biohazardous products. The pharmacy technician will ensure that products and services are provided in timely, safe and cost-effective manner according to department policies, procedures, and practice standards supporting both inpatient and outpatient services within Nuvance Health.�

Responsibilities:

1. Handle, pull, label, package, compound, and deliver medications to patient or authorized personnel as instructed by pharmacist.

2. Help maintain medication and supply inventory.

3. Identify, pull, and dispose of expired medications as needed

4. Clerical duties such as filing, data entry, printer management.

5. Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and regulatory requirements, such as completing and reviewing audits such as managing temp logs, cleaning logs, unit inspections, etc.

6. Manage ADCs inventory by utilizing reports from main console and troubleshooting minor technical issues.

7. Refilling and managing expiration dates of code carts, kits, med trays etc.

8. Handle and deliver controlled medications by following all state & federal regulations and departmental policies.

9. Triage phone calls and transfer calls to pharmacist for any medication related questions.

10. Navigate EMR as it relates to missing medications and charges/billing.

11. Understanding the identification, handling, compounding, and storage of hazardous medications (USP800, NIOSH, OSHA, and departmental policy).

12. Comply with all USP 795, USP 797, USP 800 requirements in the compounding of sterile and nonsterile products by following all departmental policies & procedures involving technique, training, testing, and personal hygiene.

13. Maintains and models the organization's values.

14. Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.

15. Performs other duties as required.

Education Skills Experience:

Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Minimum Experience: 1 year

Certification: PTCB or NHA ExCPT Certification

Registered Pharmacy Technician (active & in good standing)

Desired: Pharmacy Technician experience. Computer skills, ability to multi-task and work independently.

    Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force
