Position Overview
This position is intentionally structured for candidates who enjoy practical engineering, field engagement, and customer-facing problem solving.
This role blends engineering, project execution, and technical sales. You will work directly with customers in plant and factory settings to identify operational issues, develop engineered solutions, and help move projects from concept to execution.
Core Responsibilities
Engineering & Project Execution
- Support projects from initial concept through fabrication and installation
- Develop and review:
- Fabrication and shop drawings
- Equipment layouts
- Field measurements and job takeoffs
- Coordinate closely with:
- Shop fabrication teams
- Field crews
- Project management and ownership
- Conduct site visits in active manufacturing and plant environments
- Assist with scheduling, materials, and scope changes
- Troubleshoot real-world fabrication and installation challenges
Customer Engagement & Technical Sales
- Work directly with customers on a daily basis
- Walk facilities to identify:
- Airflow, dust, ventilation, or process issues
- Safety, compliance, or efficiency concerns
- Translate facility problems into engineered solutions
- Collaborate with ownership and estimating to:
- Develop scopes of work
- Support pricing and proposals
- Help “push” projects forward through clear technical justification
- Build long-term customer relationships through trust, responsiveness, and technical credibility
Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET)
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering
- Experience working in:
- Manufacturing plants
- Industrial facilities
- Factory or production environments
- Comfortable interacting with customers, operators, and plant leadership
- Practical, hands-on engineering mindset
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Mechanical layouts
- Fabrication drawings
- Field sketches
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable wearing multiple hats
