Customer Service Representative – Aerospace Distribution
Location: Chatsworth, CA
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSR) to ensure accurate order processing, contract compliance, and excellent customer communication. This role partners with Inside Sales and other departments to maintain documentation integrity, track delivery performance, and provide outstanding service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Order Processing & Contract Adherence: Review, validate, and enter customer orders into our ERP system (SAP preferred). Issue acknowledgements, track open orders, and escalate discrepancies.
- Documentation & Record Control: Maintain customer documentation, certifications, and transactional traceability in compliance with AS9100/AS9120. Support internal and external audits.
- Customer Communication: Serve as the primary contact for assigned accounts, providing timely updates, shipment confirmations, and proactive delivery notifications.
- Delivery Performance Support: Monitor orders, coordinate internally to resolve issues, and support continuous improvement of on-time delivery metrics.
- Portal & System Compliance: Manage customer portals, upload required documentation and ensure ERP accuracy to prevent errors.
- Accounts Receivable Coordination: Notify customers of outstanding balances and assist in resolving billing discrepancies.
- Quality & Compliance Awareness: Adhere to company and AS9100/AS9120 procedures, maintain confidentiality, and participate in corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- 1+ year of customer service experience in order management
- 1–2 years of data entry experience
- Aerospace distribution experience highly desired
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and AS9100/AS9120 environments
- Strong data entry accuracy, Microsoft Excel proficiency, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication with a professional customer-facing demeanor
Preferred:
- Advanced Excel skills
- 3 years’ experience with aerospace hardware and fasteners
- Experience placing purchase orders
Work Environment & Requirements:
- Office-based within an aerospace distribution facility
- Frequent ERP system and customer portal interaction
- Regular coordination with warehouse and operations personnel
- Travel up to 5% (may include international travel; passport/visa may be required)
