Sales/Sales Demo Tech Hybrid Position

Micro Auto Paint & Supplies, Inc. is a leader in the automotive paint and paint products industry. We have 9 locations in MI, OH and IL. We are seeking a Salesperson/Sales Demo Technician to join our team!


This hybrid Sales/Sales Demo Technician position is for our Grandville, MI location on the west side of the state and includes the greater Grand Rapids area. This is a full-time salary position with medical, dental, vision, vacation and 401(k) plan.


Your role will involve promoting, demonstrating and selling our wide range of paints and coatings to customers, answering queries, and providing advice on the best solutions for their needs. The ideal candidate for this role is customer-focused, has a solid understanding of the automotive paint industry and a knack for identifying potential sales opportunities. You should be comfortable with regularly meeting sales targets and have outstanding presentation and negotiation skills. Micro Auto Paint & Supplies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Automotive Paint Technician with a minimum of 5 years of combined sales/demo tech experience. Must have work history in the production/manufacturing side of automotive paint. Must have experience in collision shop automotive painting.

Responsibilities:

  • Present, promote and sell BASF products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Reach out to customer leads through cold calling
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
  • Ensuring the achievement of sales targets and objectives
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments
  • Analyze the territory/market’s potential, track sales and status reports
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends
  • Continuously improve through feedback
  • Understanding and communicating the benefits and features of various paint products to

customers

  • Determining customers’ needs and recommending appropriate products or solutions
  • Providing color matching and custom tinting services
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, contractors, and professional painters
  • Preparing and presenting sales quotes and proposals
  • Providing product demonstrations and presentations when necessary
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, products, and competitors
  • Handling customer complaints and resolving them in a timely and satisfactory manner
  • Managing inventory, restocking products, and ordering supplies as needed

​Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years previous experience in sales/sales demo tech with proven work experience as an Automotive Paint Technician in a manufacturing setting, customer service, or other related fields
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
  • Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Must be at least 24 years old to be added to our auto insurance policy
  • Must have a good driving record and be able to pass a physical and drug test

Additional Information

  • Job Title: Sales/Sales Demo Technician Hybrid Position
  • Work Environment: This role requires traveling to different locations for meeting customers. Some office work may be required for administrative tasks and team meetings. Demonstrating paint, paint products, paint techniques and sales.
  • Reporting Structure: Reports to the owner of Micro Auto Paint & Supplies, Inc. and Fixed Operations Manager.
  • Salary: Salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
  • Pay Range: $50,000 minimum to $70,000 depending on skill and experience.
  • Location: Headquartered in Highland Park, MI. Territory is metro Grand Rapids/Grandville, MI.
