Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Certified Surgical Technologist to join our growing clinical team. This role supports perioperative services within both dental and ophthalmology settings, requiring flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining sterile technique and patient safety.

The ideal candidate is proactive, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment while ensuring efficient patient flow and optimal procedural support.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and verify supplies and equipment required for surgical procedures
  • Maintain strict sterile technique at all times
  • Open sterile supplies and set up sterile tables with instruments, equipment, medications, and solutions needed for procedure
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and prepare additional supplies as necessary
  • Maintain accurate records throughout the procedure and communicate relevant information to the circulator
  • Handle and properly label specimens in accordance with protocol
  • Assist the surgeon by holding retractors or instruments as directed
  • Sponge or suction the operative site
  • Prepare and apply sterile dressings
  • Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed
  • Gowns and gloves surgeons and surgical assistants
  • Assist with draping the sterile field
  • Pass instruments and supplies to Surgeon efficiently during procedures
  • Support room turnover initiatives to maintain surgical flow
  • Assist with terminal cleaning and preparation of the operating room for the next patient
  • Prepare the room for subsequent patients
  • Maintain regular and punctual work-site attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Qualifications:

  • Holds certificate an accredited Surgical Technology program, through NBSTSA or NCCT
  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential (Preferred)
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (Required)
  • 0-2 years of experience (Required)
  • Ophthalmology experience (1 year) is a plus
  • Fluent in English

  • Day shift
  • Morning shift


Experience:

  • Ophthalmology: 1 year (Bonus)


Ability to Commute:

  • Based in Brooklyn and able to commute to Flushing, Queens for training
