- Collect blood samples through venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing, adhering to strict aseptic techniques and laboratory protocols.
- Maintain detailed documentation of specimen collection, processing steps, and patient information with precision and confidentiality.
- Assist with patient care activities by providing clear instructions, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive experience during specimen collection.
- Follow laboratory procedures meticulously to ensure specimen integrity and prevent contamination or errors.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, answer questions, and provide reassurance throughout the process.
- Support clinical laboratory teams by maintaining a clean, organized workspace and adhering to safety standards at all times.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely delivery of specimens for diagnostic testing and follow-up.
- Knowledge of venipuncture methods, blood sampling techniques, and specimen processing protocols.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately in high-pressure situations.
- Certification or training in phlebotomy or related laboratory procedures is preferred but not mandatory if relevant laboratory experience is demonstrated.
