Job Description

Degree in Radiologic Technology, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Ultrasound certification, and minimum 1+ years Imaging experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for an experienced ultrasound technologist specializing in maternal fetal imaging with general ultrasound expertise. This role involves performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures across a broad scope, including OB/GYN and general abdominal imaging in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Location:Position is based in Christiansburg, VA, offering access to scenic landscapes and a community known for its welcoming atmosphere and quality of life.

Scheduling and Work Hours:

  • Night shifts: Three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM 7:00 AM), Friday through Sunday
  • On-call backup responsibilities as needed
  • Floating and variable shift assignments within the imaging department

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct ultrasound examinations for maternal fetal assessments covering all trimesters and fetal anatomical surveys
  • Perform imaging on general abdominal organs, vascular structures, pelvic/genitourinary areas, and small parts including thyroid and superficial masses
  • Manage portable and adult ultrasound studies across multiple work settings
  • Ensure compliance with charting using Epic electronic medical records system

Qualifications and Certifications:

  • ARDMS certification required
  • BLS certification mandatory
  • Minimum of five years of ultrasound experience, with proven proficiency in OB/GYN imaging
  • Pediatric ultrasound experience preferred but not mandatory

Additional Requirements:

  • Must work at least one holiday during the 13-week contract term
  • First-time travelers with the required experience are welcome; local candidates are not eligible under radius restrictions
