Job Description

We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to oversee welding operations and ensure compliance with applicable codes, safety standards, and project requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections, monitoring welding processes, and maintaining accurate quality documentation.

Responsibilities:

Perform visual weld inspections to verify conformance with AWS D1.2/D1.2M and project specifications.
Monitor welding operations for quality, safety, and compliance with procedures.
Develop and maintain welding procedures and welder qualification records.
Document inspection results and collaborate with engineering, QA, and fabrication teams.
Support corrective actions, audits, and ongoing quality improvement efforts.
Administer welder qualification tests in accordance with AWS D1.2.

Qualifications:

Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
Minimum 3 years of experience in welding inspection or quality control.
In-depth understanding of AWS codes and welding practices.
Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting welding symbols.
Familiarity with ISO standards and quality documentation practices.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Physically able to perform inspections in a fabrication or shop environment.
