Job DescriptionTemporary Carpenter needed for an established rail services companyJOB SUMMARY:The Carpenter will be responsible for building and installing structures and fixtures for passenger rail cars. They will also be responsible for following the directive given by management and reporting via a daily progress report. They must adhere to and maintain strict compliance with corporate/office policies and procedures, established health and safety protocols, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read blueprints and rail car plans
- Install structures and fixtures.
- Measure, cut and shape wood, plastic and other materials.
- Install new hardware as needed.
- Construct and install structures as needed in rail cars (walls, tabletops, door frames, closets).
- Other mechanical duties as assigned.
- Notifies supervisor of any faulty equipment.
- Wear and use required protective equipment while working.
- Takes responsibility for own safety while on the job.
- Work overtime as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent reading, writing and reasoning skills).
- Carpentry experience (documented)
- Light Plumbing experience is a plus, as well as light electrical
- Successful completion of a pre-employment screening process
Schedule:
- Full time hours from 7am to 3pm at a minimum (Weekends as needed)
- Overtime available
