Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the upcoming school year in a K-12 school setting located in Lovington, New Mexico. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic district, supporting students across one or two school buildings with varied speech and language needs.
Responsibilities include providing direct speech and language therapy to students, managing a caseload typically ranging from 65 to 70 students, and collaborating with Assistant Speech-Language Pathologists to deliver quality services. The role offers a structured yet flexible environment with dedicated therapy spaces and opportunities for paid indirect hours such as team meetings and administrative duties. Supervision arrangements are supported within the district to maintain professional growth and compliance.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Valid SLP certification and credentials appropriate for school-based practice
- Experience working within K-12 educational settings preferred
- Ability to manage a caseload within a caseload model, with support from ASLs if assigned higher numbers
- Familiarity or willingness to learn the districts IEP system and participate in training as needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and support staff
