Position Summary
The Financial Planner based out of Pittsburgh will be responsible for creating financial plans for clients. The creation of financial plans includes gathering client documents, data entering information into the financial planning software, collaborating with advisors to establish the client’s goals and discuss comprehensive financial planning topics, utilizing the financial planning software to create and finalize plans, and delivering financial plans to the advisor team. This role is expected to continue to grow their financial planning acumen through on-the-job training and learning as well as self-directed learning.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with advisors and client relationship teams to gather financial statements and client information required to write a financial plan*
- Interpret client financial statements and advisor meeting notes to prepare client data
- Enter relevant client data into the financial planning software
- Use the financial planning software to create financial summary reports
- Meet with advisors to review summary reports and finalize the goals of financial plans
- Finalize financial plans in the planning software
- Collaborate with Financial Planning department teammates and the internal Compliance department to receive final approval on all financial planning documents prior to delivery to the advisory team
- Ensure accuracy of data and language within planning documents by utilizing internal checklists and templates when applicable
- Confirm current marketing materials, fund descriptions, and performance reports are being utilized in final planning documents
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field or
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2 years of relevant experience (Registered Investment Advisor or Broker/Dealer is preferred) in a financial services environment is required
- 2 years of relevant experience is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- eMoney or similar financial planning software
- Have an internal drive to take initiative and find solutions
- High attention to detail and accuracy of data entry
- Command of written language with very few grammatical mistakes
- Strong verbal communication and a comfort level communicating with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time management
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to take direction, work collaboratively within a team structure and across functional departments
- Team player mindset with the ability to collaborate and coordinate with internal departments
Preferred Qualifications
- CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) or a commitment to obtaining this designation within a specified time frame is strongly preferred
- Experience in a Wealth Planning environment is preferred
