A growing mid-sized manufacturing company in Suffolk County, Long Island is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their accounting team. Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

About the Role:
As the Senior Accountant, you’ll play a key role in the month-end close process, support cost accounting functions, and help maintain accurate financial reporting. You’ll work closely with the Controller and cross-functional teams across operations and finance.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports

Assist with month-end and year-end close activities

Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data

Perform cost accounting and inventory analysis, including standard cost updates and variance reporting

Support internal and external audits, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate

Collaborate with operations to track and analyze manufacturing costs and margins

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

Identify and implement process improvements within the accounting function
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)

CPA or progress toward CPA (preferred)
-
3–6 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a manufacturing or industrial setting

Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles

Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)

Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills
