Job DescriptionPosition Summary

We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Ophthalmologist to join a well-established and growing practice in Greenville, North Carolina. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive eye care to a diverse patient population while working in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. Subspecialty interests are welcome and may be supported based on practice needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of ophthalmologic conditions affecting vision and eye health.
  • Provide comprehensive eye care services, including routine examinations, disease management, and surgical care as credentialed.
  • Perform ophthalmic procedures and surgeries consistent with training and experience.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive eye care.
  • Coordinate care with optometrists, primary care providers, and medical or surgical specialists.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Participate in call coverage and emergency consultations as required.
  • Adhere to evidence-based clinical guidelines, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and departmental meetings.

Requirements

Education and Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Ophthalmology residency program.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Ophthalmology.
  • Current, unrestricted North Carolina medical license or eligibility for licensure.
  • DEA registration or eligibility.
