Job DescriptionPosition Overview

We are seeking an experienced Supervising Occupational Therapist (Clinical Director) to lead our pediatric Occupational Therapy team. This role combines direct patient care with clinical leadership, staff mentorship, quality assurance, and program development to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based therapy services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the Occupational Therapy department.

  • Provide mentorship and clinical guidance to OTs and COTAs.

  • Perform pediatric evaluations and provide direct therapy services.

  • Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans.

  • Ensure quality documentation and regulatory compliance.

  • Support staff training, onboarding, and professional development.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families.

  • Assist with scheduling, caseload management, and department operations.

  • Promote evidence-based, family-centered care and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy.

  • Current New Mexico Occupational Therapy license (or eligibility for licensure).

  • Minimum 5 years of pediatric Occupational Therapy experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience.

  • Strong knowledge of pediatric development, sensory processing, fine motor skills, feeding, handwriting, visual-motor integration, executive functioning, and ADLs.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supervising Occupational Therapists and COTAs.

  • Outpatient pediatric therapy experience.

  • Experience with program development and staff education.

  • Knowledge of Medicaid and commercial insurance documentation.

  • Experience using EMR systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift pediatric patients as needed.

  • Ability to use therapeutic equipment and standard office technology.

  • Ability to perform the physical demands of pediatric Occupational Therapy services.
