About the Role:
The CMA/CNA (Certified Medical Assistant/Certified Nursing Assistant) role is pivotal in delivering high-quality patient care within a healthcare setting in Starke. This full-time position focuses on supporting medical professionals by performing clinical and administrative tasks that ensure smooth and efficient patient flow. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with patient examinations, taking vital signs, and providing compassionate care to patients with diverse needs. Additionally, this role involves maintaining accurate patient records and collaborating closely with healthcare teams to enhance patient outcomes. Ultimately, the CMA/CNA will contribute significantly to creating a supportive and safe environment for patients and staff alike.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Minimum 1-3 years experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrated ability to perform clinical and administrative tasks in a healthcare environment.
- Strong understanding of patient privacy and confidentiality regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Pediatric and/or rural health care experience.
- Additional certifications such as Phlebotomy or EKG Technician credentials.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures by preparing patients and necessary equipment.
- Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
- Adhere to infection control procedures and safety precautions including always keeping exam rooms and nursing stations clean and professional.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates accurately.
- Administer vaccinations, medications through subcutaneous, intramuscular, or oral route.
- Maintain and update patient medical records with precision and confidentiality.
- Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments and examination rooms.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide education and emotional support.
- Coordinate with nursing and medical staff to facilitate efficient patient care and workflow.
Skills:
The required skills enable the CMA/CNA to perform essential clinical duties such as taking vital signs, assisting with patient care, and maintaining accurate records, which are critical for patient safety and care quality.
