LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE

Location:

  • Weekend schedule
  • Can opt to work every weekend or every other weekend.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our team in a Long Term Care setting. The LPN will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, person-centered care to residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and document patient admission information, including medical history and insurance details
  • Assist the Registered Nurse in delivering comprehensive nursing care
  • Record and monitor vital signs and other health indicators
  • Prepare patients for medical examinations and collect test samples
  • Administer medications and injections as prescribed
  • Treat and dress wounds and bedsores
  • Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) as needed
  • Support patients with personal hygiene and dressing
  • Monitor and document food and fluid intake and output

Requirements:Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) should be knowledgeable and proficient in using the Point Click Care system.

Licenses / Certifications

  • Current and valid New York State LPN license
  • Up-to-date medical clearance, including COVID-19 vaccination
  • BLS certification (Basic Life Support)

Experience Needed

  • Minimum 3 months of experience in a Long Term Care setting preferred
  • Understanding patient needs and providing comfort, which enhances trust and patient satisfaction
  • Effectively interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams to relay important information and provide emotional support
  • Assessing patient conditions, prioritizing care, and making quick decisions, especially in emergencies
  • Adjusting to changing patient needs, healthcare protocols, and dynamic work environments
  • Coordinating with nurses, doctors, and nursing assistants, and sometimes overseeing support staff
