The Sleep Lab Respiratory Therapist is responsible for performing overnight sleep studies and related diagnostic procedures to evaluate patients for sleep disorders. This role includes patient preparation, equipment set up, physiological data acquisition, PAP titration, monitoring throughout the study, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. This is a nighttime shift 7:30 pm to 5:30 am, some weekends will be needed.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical skills, professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail while maintaining compliance with all the regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include
>prepare patients for overnight sleep studies by explaining procedures, obtaining history, and answering questions
>Apply and calibrate electrodes sensors, and monitoring, equipment according to established protocols.
>Conduct and monitor polysomnography studies including EEG, EKG, EMG, EOG, respiratory airflow, oxygen saturation, and limb movements
>Perform CPAP-BIPAP titration studies as ordered
>Observing patients continuously, documenting, maintain infection control, HIPPAA compliance, communicate effectively with all staff, educate patients on PAP therapy and sleep hygiene when appropriate, must maintain all your current licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements
