Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Neptune, NJ 07754
Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift Options:

• Evening Shift (5x8): 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

• Night Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Weekly Pay:

• $1,000 – $1,200 (Local Candidates)

• $1,200 – $1,500 (Travel Candidates)

Position Overview

A reputable healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician responsible for the decontamination, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This role also supports Operating Room (OR) functions by assembling case carts according to physician preference cards.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, and sterilize surgical instruments and reusable medical equipment

• Prepare and assemble case carts for surgical procedures based on physician preference guidelines

• Operate sterilization equipment including Steam, ETO, Sterrad, and Steris systems

• Perform biological testing and Bowie-Dick tests to ensure sterilization effectiveness

• Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation

• Follow Universal Precautions and proper PPE protocols at all times

• Communicate effectively with OR staff regarding missing instruments or supply needs

• Ensure compliance with facility policies and infection control standards

Required Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Certifications & Licensure

• National Certification: CRCST or CBSPD

• BLS Certification (AHA required)

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in sterile processing or instrument handling

• Completion of a Central Processing course or at least 1 year of relevant experience

• Experience with sterilization recordkeeping and computerized tracking systems
