The Neuro Stepdown RN delivers specialized nursing care to patients who need close observation following intensive care. This role involves applying the nursing process to ensure effective patient care. The RN is accountable for the care provided to their assigned patients and assesses the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other caregivers. Coordination of patient care with other departments is essential, as is the protection of patient rights and confidentiality. Qualifications:
- Education: Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
- Licensure: Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the state of employment or compact licensure, adhering to all state board of nursing regulations.
- Experience: Relevant experience in nursing is preferred.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or completion of the course within 30 days of hire.
- Depending on the specific position or unit, additional certifications may be required within a designated timeframe, including:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
- Other unit-specific certifications as necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to regularly push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged standing and walking are required during each shift.
- Must be able to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to fulfill job duties.
