Job Title: Manufacturing Manager

Department: Manufacturing

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Basic Function:

  • Responsible for overseeing the production process and ensuring that production orders are filled on time and that parts are produced to meet the specified quality levels.
  • Make recommendations for equipment purchases and production layout.
  • Plans and sets required staffing levels based upon open order and forecast data.
  • Plans and coordinates manufacturing processes for new product introduction in conjunction with manufacturing engineers.
  • Ensures manufacturing staff are properly trained and proficient in manufacturing processes.

Corporate Responsibilities:

1. Taking an Active part in the Evolvement of Company Culture:

  • Encouraging interactions of company employees in company sponsored events.
  • Grasping leadership of potential barriers to promote teamwork.
  • Meet established company and departmental goals.

2. Manage Personnel:

  • Establish annual personnel goals and objectives.
  • Determine career plan for each departmental employee based on capability.
  • Establish the freedom of work through defined tasks and responsibilities.
  • Encourage involvement in company functions to promote family concepts.
  • Provide Education to Corporate Strategies throughout the organization.

3. Manages manufacturing process.

  1. Make recommendations for capital expenditure. Sets staffing levels for direct labor.
  2. Ensure a safe working environment is maintained and safety policies are enforced.
  3. Ensure that the facility is properly maintained.
  4. Identifies and implements cost reduction activities within the manufacturing area.

Departmental Responsibilities:

  • Hire and manage production supervisors and production personnel.
  • Ensures that production goals for efficiency and quality are met.
  • Reviews production efficiency and utilization and takes actions to correct deficiencies.
  • Ensure work instructions and other aids to manufacturing are up to date and provided to appropriate employees.
  • Ensures all production personnel are properly trained to perform their functions.
  • Works with manufacturing engineers to set standard work rates.
  • Works closely with material planners to develop accurate scheduling processes.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with physical inventory process.
  • Provide input and help to other departments as needed.
  • Ensure cycle counts are performed and updated by manufacturing personnel in manufacturing areas as scheduled.
  • Assist with estimating and quoting new business.
  • Participate in product innovation and encourage employees to do the same.

Authorities: Approves Overtime.

Associates directly reporting to this position: Production Supervisors

Associates indirectly reporting to this position:

  • Production Planners
  • Maintenance

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years of manufacturing experience.
  • General Knowledge of manufacturing processes and practices.
  • Experience with assembly processes, metal stamping and machining, preferred
