Senior Accountant
Part-Time 20-25 hours per week
Remote - open to candidates living on East Coast
Duration: Temporary – 6 months
Pay rate $35.00 + per hour with adjustment for right candidate
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Temporary Senior Accountant to provide interim support while the Accounting Manager is working on a new software implementation. This role will focus on core accounting responsibilities, ensuring continuity of financial operations and timely, accurate reporting. The position is part-time with a hybrid schedule, requiring one day per week onsite.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day core accounting operations
- Perform and oversee monthly close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare and review monthly consolidations
- Complete credit card reconciliations and expense reviews
- Review and audit payroll entries for accuracy and compliance
- Prepare and post journal entries in QuickBooks
- Support revenue recognition in accordance with company policies and GAAP
- Ensure accuracy of general ledger activity and financial reporting
- Maintain documentation and support audit-ready accounting practices
- Serve as a key point of contact for accounting-related questions during the interim period
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting functions
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks required
- Experience with monthly close, consolidations, payroll review, and revenue recognition
- High level of attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills

- Part-Time role (flexible hours to be determined)
- Hybrid schedule: 1 day per week onsite, remaining days remote
- Temporary / Interim assignment – 6 months
