Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a skilled pharmacy professional to serve as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge at a community hospital in Logan, Ohio. This contract role offers a chance to lead pharmacy operations in a supportive environment with a well-established team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee pharmacy staffing, scheduling, and daily operations
- Manage narcotics ordering and inventory control
- Supervise sterile compounding and ensure compliance with regulations
- Participate in departmental meetings and initiatives
- Provide on-call coverage during pharmacy closures, typically 1-2 calls per week
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards following recent DNV certification
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Ohio Pharmacist license is mandatory
- Proven inpatient pharmacy experience, including intravenous (IV) medications
- Knowledge of 340B program management preferred
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic order entry system advantageous; training provided
- Experience or willingness to learn Pyxis automation system
- Ability to work effectively with a small staff (1 full-time pharmacist, 2 PRN pharmacists) and technician support
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday: 7:30 AM 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
- On-call coverage from Friday 6:00 PM to Monday 7:30 AM (rotating weekends every 4th week)

This contract assignment begins March 16, 2026, covering until the permanent Director of Pharmacy position is filled, with the current Directors last day on March 27, 2026. Orientation includes onboarding modules and on-the-job training.
