About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dietitian/Certified Diabetes Educator to join our team in delivering comprehensive, lifestyle-based care to patients with obesity and diabetes. You will provide individual nutrition counseling, group education, and ongoing support as part of our Intensive Behavioral Therapy (IBT) Program and Diabetes Self-Management and Prevention Programs.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about preventing and reversing chronic metabolic diseases through food, behavior change, and empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth nutrition assessments for patients with obesity, prediabetes, and type 2 diabetes
- Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and individualized care plans
- Deliver structured 1-on-1 nutrition coaching and facilitate group classes
- Educate patients using established modules for weight management and diabetes prevention and management
- Create or update educational handouts, nutrition guides, and tracking tools
- Coordinate care with our obesity medicine physician and care team
- Promote healthy behavior change through motivational interviewing and accountability support
- Accurately chart progress and outcomes in the EHR system
- Participate in marketing, community outreach, and patient engagement efforts
- Stay current on guidelines and research in obesity medicine, diabetes care, and lifestyle interventions
- Assist with program development, patient recruitment, and outcome tracking
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field (required)
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential (preferred)
- Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) is a plus
- At least 1 year of recent experience in clinical nutrition, preferably working with weight management and/or diabetes
- Strong communication and teaching skills—comfortable working with individuals and groups
- Bilingual in Spanish is required
- Familiarity with EHR documentation and lifestyle-focused care models
