POSITION SUMMARY: The Ultrasound Technician directly works with patients and Providers and operates machinery equipment that uses high-frequency soundwaves to record images and scans of the body's internal organs. The Ultrasound Technician ensures images submitted to the Radiologist are optimal for reading and maintains utmost confidentiality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare the exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct examinations.
- Recognize and record the appropriate anatomy and pathology using sonographic equipment.
- Care properly for sonography equipment and report equipment failure to Medical Center Administrator.
- Complete tech report based upon the scan results and completion.
- Alert appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that need immediate attention.
- Maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality.
- Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED Equivalent (required).
- Successful completion of Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Current active Florida state license (required).
- Excellent Interpersonal skills.
- Work independently or with minimal supervision and as part of a team
